A Cumbrian mum who launched her first book about 'Felix the Fast Tractor' in July is set to release the second book...
Still trying to get over the fantastic sales of 'Felix the Fast Tractor and the New Building', Catherine Cannon is poised to launch her second book this week. 'Felix the Fast Tractor and the Coal Delivery' will hit the bookstands on Friday the demand is certainly there, and this book could even be more popular!
Catherine commented, It's been a fantastic few months, although it has been hectic! Not least for the past few weeks when I've been pulling the new book together. I'm still out and about distributing the first book, and I'm constantly been asked when the next one is out. Plumpton Post Office had had two enquiries on the day that I was in the demand is obviously there. I really like the new book, and my 'market testers' (i.e. small children), seem to like it too. It's got a lot of lovely action pictures with snow flying everywhere - and coal dust, and it has a train link too!

The book launch will take place on Thursday 18th November at 1.30pm at Ottakars book store, Carlisle. Also present will be 30 year one pupils from Stanwix Primary School. There will be a snowy theme to the book reading! Ottakars have been very supportive of the books, and there will be an Ottakars representative at the launch. One of the children will get to keep the very first signed copy of the new book.
Felix is a caring and kind tractor, who is not only fast in the 'speed' sense, but he thinks fast too. In this new story, readers can follow Felix as he helps with a delivery of coal in snowy weather but will it get there in time? Again the new book has the unique 'want to know more' sections which have proved really popular with children and their parents. As this book is linked to time, the story has clocks throughout. There is also a 'typical winters day' section on Ambers Farm at the back of the book.
