About the author

I've lived in Cumbria all my life, and seeing the farmers caring for their animals and working out in the fields helped with research for my ‘Felix the Fast Tractor’ stories.

Children have always loved hearing about life on the farm, asking endless questions about farming, the animals and particularly about tractors!

When my son was 4 years old, he was incredibly inquisitive, but I found that the books aimed at this age group didn't answer all his questions. So, in an effort to bring a balanced mixture of fun and information to story time, Felix was born.

I think it is incredibly important to teach children about farming - about the technology and machinery that is used on farms and that farms are where much of our food comes from.

Felix may even make you decide that you’d like to live on a farm, in which case, I couldn't be happier!
